How WE the PEOPLE Can Reclaim America!

Moved to Memphis

Moved to Memphis

Big News: Bob and I moved to Memphis….a decision that we did not make lightly or hastily.  We both love Palm Springs and all of our friends in the Coachella Valley. That said–it was clear while I was at my high school class reunion in Anna, IL, how much I missed my home there and life-time friends. But why move to Illinois? Illinois is about as expensive as CA.

Also on the trip, I went to a football game at my Alma Mater, Ole Miss, partied in The Grove, visited friends in Memphis and realized the same.  I missed it all. I shared my feelings with Bob, and he agreed. Neither of us wanted to retire in CA.

CA is certainly not the state that Bob grew up in. It is not the “cool” place that I moved to in the late 70’s.  Driving into San Francisco for the first time, I thought SF was the most beautiful city ever. This once gorgeous city is now a haven for the homeless, crime, illegal aliens and filth. Civilized people do not allow this, nor do they live in this!

And sadly, our fabulous Palm Springs is also not the quant little village that we moved to 14 years ago.  If you are a Californian, you already know some of the reasons for our move.  The CA economy;  Radio opportunity that does not exist in Palm Springs for me; The stupidity of the democrat, socialists combined with the lack of leadership and organization in the Republican Party to fight and not fold. CA Republicans State elected officials are now so co-dependent on the democrat progressives that they are joining them and voting with them for higher taxes, Bag Bans, Cap and Trade, the Bullet Train to nowhere, etc.

What a mess! So, Bob and I have joined the now long list of fleeing California Conservatives.

Please forward and invite your freinds to go to www.eliserichmond.com and put their email address in the left hand corner of the Home Page.  We will keep you posted.

Bob and I thank all of you for listening to The 1st Elise Richmond Show. Stay tune for my next radio adventure and —-for Heaven’s sake, STAY IN Touch!

Xoxo,

Elise

Moved to Memphis, Part 2!

On Sunday I wrote a letter to family and friends to announce and explain our move to Memphis, never suspecting that this letter would end up on Breitbart.com! Go to the article and leave feedback on it.

Thank you to all of our wonderful friends that responded with well wishes, adding their thoughts on why they could or could not do the same.  FYI: Biggest reason for Conservatives to NOT leave CA was kids and grandkids or owned property.

At the same time, here came the Desert Sun article, which I think left the impression that Bob and I “just gave up” and left Palm Springs, or we were “run out of town on a rail” by the nasty Progressives. Both thoughts are far from the truth.

So, let’s talk here: First of all, I have Southern in my blood. My mother was a Texan. My relatives on Mom’s side are scattered all throughout the South in South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Arkansas, and Daddy’s side are in “Southern Illinois”. Why do you think they call the location of my hometown, Anna, “Southern” Illinois? Take a quick look at a map!

Then, there is that Ole Miss Rebel thing! I am a proud alumna of Ole Miss.  A former Ole Miss grad once said, “You graduate from the University of Mississippi, but you never leave Ole Miss”.  For the last 39 years, I am homesick every fall, when my Rebels run onto the field in Vaught–Hemingway Stadium. Do you know how happy I am to be going to the season opener this Saturday evening, having first partied with life-long friends in The Grove? OMG!

But, despite all of the above, the first piece to the moving puzzle is the drastic heat in the desert in the summer.  Now I always loved summer, but I really could not enjoy summer in the Desert. Too, too hot to be outside. We live in air-conditioning all summer long. Can’t even be in the pool for any length of time, so what to do?

Attending my class reunion in Anna and an Ole Miss Football game in Oxford last year was the last straw. Since a part of me has always been nomadic, not Muslim, but a nomadic, the moving discussion began. CA is number 49 on the “Highest Cost of Living”, Mississippi is Number 1 and Tennessee is Number 2 according to USA Today!

It was decided that it was time, as I said in the above referenced letter, to go to my original home!

Note, I have not mentioned politics yet, but will in Part 3 of “Moved to Memphis”.  Stay tuned!

Xoxo,

Elise
